Frequently asked questions
Each cat in our program wears a collar with an AirTag for tracking and a tag with their name and our website (UTStrays.org). This helps students and staff identify the cats, ensuring they are part of our monitored colony. We are in the process of implementing this system and not all cats have collars yet.
If the cat has a UT Strays collar, contact us immediately. For urgent cases, take them to a vet and notify us.

If the cat has no collar and is approachable, take a photo, note the location, and reach out to us. If it’s scared or aggressive, do not attempt to handle it—please report it to us as soon as possible.

We greatly appreciate donations to help care for the campus cats! You can donate cat food, collars, treatments, and other supplies. Check out our Amazon Wishlist here for items we currently need.
If you prefer to drop off supplies in person, please contact us through our website or social media to arrange a donation. Every contribution helps provide food, medical care, and essentials for the cats!
No, the University of Tampa has a no-pet policy that prohibits animals on campus, except for service animals, approved emotional support animals, or those used for special programs.
If you want to help the campus cats, consider volunteering, donating supplies, or assisting with feeding and TNVR efforts instead!
